Hurricane Names and Meanings

Image result for hurricane

I decided to look up the names of the hurricanes/tropical storms that have already impacted the US, along with a couple of storms that are still out in the distance, but could be heading this direction.  What I found is quite interesting.

Olivia — olive branch

Gordon — spacious fort

Florence — blossoming, to flower

Joyce — Lord

Helene – light, torch, bright

Isaac — he laughs

I’m not sure if the meanings behind them are significant, but IF they are, is this the meaning?

As a nation, we think we are at peace, living spaciously with our blossoming economy, but the Lord is lighting the torch on our nation and He laughs.
Disclaimer:  I am NOT saying, “Thus saith the Lord.”
I’m only pondering the meanings of the names of these storms
and wondering if there is significance to it.

The Shemitah That Was and the Shaking to Come

This is a great article, addressing how “uneventful” September has been so far, and where our true focus should be.

My Dream and God’s Judgment

I had a horrific dream last night.  At first, I couldn’t even talk about it this morning.  I just wanted to cry.  I knew I needed refresh myself in the Lord.

Once I got before the Lord and refreshed my spirit, He spoke some things to me that I think would be beneficial to all of us to hear. And one thing the Lord knows about me, I don’t want to go through anything difficult and miss what He is trying to teach me, even if the difficult thing is “just a bad dream.”

I was in a very large house — more like a mansion. (Yet we actually live in a 2 BR, 1 BA house, so MUCH smaller than what was in my dream.) I knew we needed to have all the doors, windows locked. I thought they were, but they weren’t. (Now this could actually have to do with something I experienced in real life, but can’t post details.) Anyway, the Lord spoke to me that we all know we need to close “openings” in our spiritual armor. Yet we need to get before Him to allow Him to show us where there might still be openings, no matter how small they may be, then close those openings.

At one point, I was shooting a gun and it started misfiring. As scary as it was in my dream to have that happen, the Lord reminded me that I was not injured during that time. In fact, suddenly, I had a mag that kept firing, w/o ever going out. He gently spoke to me that when we stay grounded in His Word and plant it deeply within our hearts, we can use it as a weapon and it will NEVER misfire. Our spiritual “mag” will NEVER run out of ammo.

One of the things I did while I was allowing the Lord to refresh my spirit was to listen to this playlist on you tube of Harvest.

In one song, it asks, “Are we walking into the enemy’s camp and laying our weapons down?” The Lord reminded me that it is critical to be mindful of our spiritual armor and be more ready to use it than even physical armor/weapons because we ARE living in the enemy’s camp NOW.

The one part of the dream that had me so rattled involved watching ISIS taking my daughter. As I shot the gun, my aim was off. The bullet hit something that caused a wet chemical of some kind (likely gasoline) to cover her. The person I was trying to shoot laughed a maniacal laugh and lit a match. It was HORRIFIC to see it. However, once I calmed down and allowed the Lord to speak to me, He reminded me that I immediately used my spiritual weapons and cried out to Him, asking Him to keep that match from lighting up the chemicals on her. AND HE DID!!! In fact, right after that, she was able to get free. Lesson from the Lord: Don’t ever discount the weapons He provides for us. As important as it is for us to be physically prepared for what is ahead of us, our spiritual preparation is of UTMOST IMPORTANCE.

So while the dream was very disturbing, in reality, God used it as a to speak some powerful things to me.

God’s Judgment is Coming!

As I got online this morning, I opened an email from my daughter.  She sent me Psalm 2, which I thought was very interesting to read after yesterday’s ruling by SCOTUS on gay marriage.

Psalm 2

Why do the nations conspire[a]
    and the peoples plot in vain?
The kings of the earth rise up
    and the rulers band together
    against the Lord and against his anointed, saying,
“Let us break their chains
    and throw off their shackles.”

The One enthroned in heaven laughs;
    the Lord scoffs at them.
He rebukes them in his anger
    and terrifies them in his wrath, saying,
“I have installed my king
    on Zion, my holy mountain.”

I will proclaim the Lord’s decree:

He said to me, “You are my son;
    today I have become your father.
Ask me,
    and I will make the nations your inheritance,
    the ends of the earth your possession.
You will break them with a rod of iron[b];
    you will dash them to pieces like pottery.”

10 Therefore, you kings, be wise;
    be warned, you rulers of the earth.
11 Serve the Lord with fear
    and celebrate his rule with trembling.
12 Kiss his son, or he will be angry
    and your way will lead to your destruction,
for his wrath can flare up in a moment.
    Blessed are all who take refuge in him.

What I found even more telling is that when I was looking at some other things online, I found that SAME portion of scripture on TWO different sites.  So in less than ONE HOUR, I saw the above scripture THREE TIMES.  When you look at how three represents completion in the scriptures, it looks to me as if the Lord is saying that this world’s “thumbing their noses” at his is reaching a time of completion, and soon He is going to rebuke them and pour out His wrath.
